OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City came up a run short and fell to the University of British Columbia in the championship game of the Oklahoma City Opening Round Bracket, 2-1, on Thursday.

The Stars broke a scoreless tie in the fifth inning when
McKenna Snyder walked and moved to third on singles by
Kaiden Spidell and
Carlee Mollet before scoring on a wild pitch.

The Thunderbirds scored an unearned run in the bottom of the fifth and got the game-winner on Jessica Heutink's RBI double to right in the bottom of the seventh.

OCU had eight singles, with Mollet leading the way with two. The Stars stranded eight runners.
Brynlee Alsip gave up one run and took the loss to finish at 30-6.

Oklahoma City finishes the season at 50-9.
