Stars Sweep Aggies in Goodwell

GOODWELL – Oklahoma City won a pair of games at Oklahoma Panhandle State on Friday, 6-0 and 10-1.

Brynlee Alsip and McKenna Snyder combined for a three-hit shutout with Alsip getting the pitching win. Alsip pitched five innings and allowed two hits while striking out six.
 
 
The Stars scored the only run they needed in the first inning on an RBI single by Jessica Phares.
 
Analise Rayburn added an RBI single and Kindalyn Miller singled home two more in the third for a 4-0 lead.
 
Hadley Gibson brought home a run on a ground ball in the fourth and Kaiden Spidell singled in another in the sixth for the final margin.
 
Gibson, Rayburn, Phares and Spidell had two hits each in OCU's 10-hit attack.

Rayburn had two home run and drove home seven runs in the game.
 
The Stars broke up a scoreless tie in the third with RBI singles by Iliana Ashford and Rayburn.
 
Spidell contributed an RBI double ad Gibson an RBI ground out to make it 4-0 in the fourth.
 
Rayburn got the first of her two home run in the game in the fifth, a two-run shot, for a 6-0 lead. She added a grand slam in the sixth for a 10-0 lead.
 
Morgandee Sawatzky got the win in relief, fanning eight batters in five innings.
 
The Stars had 13 hits in the game, led by Rayburn with three while Gibson, Ashford and Moreno added two apiece.
 
The teams wrap up the series with a noon doubleheader on Saturday.
