OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City wrestles twice this week with a Sooner Athletic Conference dual on Friday at Wayland Baptist and a home match against Carl Albert State College on Sunday.

The duals begin at 6 p.m. in Plainview and at 4 p.m. in Oklahoma City.

Wrestler of the Week: Avery Ashley was been named the KCAC/Sooner Athletic Conference Women's Wrestler of the Week, the KCAC conference office announced Tuesday. Ashley was selected for her performances from Jan. 5-11 by a vote of the conference's Sports Information Directors. The KCAC and Sooner merged to one national qualifying group in women's wrestling in 2025-26, and have chosen to honor one Women's Wrestler of the Week between the two conferences. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented byÂ
Athletic Solutions. She was 4-0 on the week with two victories against ranked wrestler, among them the second-ranked wrestler in the NAIA.

th place at the NWCA National Duals Tournament. The 15
th-ranked Stars defeated No. 18 Dickinson State 38-10 and then walloped No. 12 Missouri Valley 33-4. Ashley Avery,Â

Ella Murphey won two more matches each on Saturday to stay perfect at 4-0 for the weekend. Avery, unranked at 110 pounds, scored a technical fall, 10-0, against No. 8 Jenna Gerhardt of Dickinson State and repeated that same score against Raquel Garcia of MVC. For the weekend she had three technical falls and one pin. Thirteenth-ranked White won by technical fall against MVC opponent after pinning Dickinson State's  Makenzie Shaw in 68 seconds at 131 pounds. Murphey, ranked ninth at 207, got a forfeit and then pinned her MVC opponent in 45 seconds.
Symphony Veloz at 180 pounds, went 2-0 on Saturday to finish the weekend with three wins with a pin and a decision on Saturday. Sixth-rankedÂ
Corin Lowe scored two wins at 145 with a pair of technical falls.
Makayla Munoz also went 2-0 on Saturday with a pin against DSU and a technical fall against MVC.Â

Rankings: New rankings come out on Thursday but the Stars are currently ranked 15th. Seven OCU women are included in the individual rankings.Â
Corin Lowe is the highest-ranked Star at sixth in the 145-pound class.Â

Dual Threat: OCU had its first dual of the season last week and went 2-2. The Stars were 2-0 on Saturday with wins over No. 12 Missouri Valley and No. 18 Dickinson State.

Checking in on WBU: The Pioneers are 6-2 in duals this season after lopsided wins over North Texas and Oklahoma State last week. WBU is currently ranked sixth with 11 ranked wrestlers. Jordan Suarez is ranked second at 145 pounds.
