OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City makes its annual trek to the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles this week for Sooner Athletic Conference women's basketball.
 
The Stars play at Oklahoma Panhandle State at 6 p.m. on Thursday and at Wayland Baptist at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Previously: Oklahoma City picked up its second consecutive Sooner Athletic Conference road win on Saturday, knocking off Central Christian 71-63. Sunishka Kartik led OCU with 15 points and had eight rebounds while Brooke Curry posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Amanda Sene Da Cruz added 13 points.
 
Stars on the Road: OCU is coming off a Sooner Athletic Conference road win at Central Christian to improve to 3-3 in road games this season. Ellie Willard averages 14.8 points per road game and Victoria Ososanya averages 10.3 on the road. The Stars have won their last two road games, winning at Texas Wesleyan prior to the win at CCCK.
 
Trending: Six Stars are averaging in double figures over the last three games, led by Sunishka Kartik at 15.5. Brooke Curry (12.3) and Victoria Ososanya (11.7) are next while Monica Devine, Amanda Sene Da Cruz and Desiree White averages 11 points each.
 
Against the League: OCU is 3-7 in the Sooner Athletic Conference games and 2-3 in SAC road contests after wins. Ellie Willard leads the team at 14.6 points per game, but has missed the last two games.
 
Our Best So Far: Brooke Curry's 11 rebounds at Central Christian on Saturday is the best for OCU this season. Other category highs are 30 points by Ellie Willard against Ottawa (Ariz.), seven assists by Lauren Rowan against Williams Baptist and six steals by Amanda Sene Da Cruz against Hesston.
 
Scoring: Two Stars average double figures in scoring. Ellie Willard averages 15.9 points and Victoria Ososanya gets 10.2 points per game. Willard and Brooke Curry lead the team with 19 three-pointers and 62 free throws. Lauren Rowan leads OCU with 44 assists.
 
Rebounds: Guard Lauren Rowan leads the Stars with 5.9 rebounds per game, including a team-high 23 offensive rebounds. She averaged 3.5 rebounds per game over her first two seasons as a Star.
 
Defensive Leaders: Lauren Rowan and Suni Kartik lead OCU with 16 steals per game and Amanda Sene Da Cruz has nine blocked shots this season.
 
History with OPSU: OCU has won four of the last five games in the Oklahoma Panhandle State series, including two wins last season. The Stars won 69-56 in Goodwell last season.
 
Checking in on the Aggie: Panhandle is 3-12 overall, 0-9 in the Sooner Athletic Conference and in the throes of a 10-game slide. OPSU lost at Mid-American Christian 65-49 on Saturday. Tryssa Down, a 6-0 center, leads the Aggies with 19.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. OPSU is 2-5 at home this season.
 
History with WBU: The Flying Queens have won the last 11 games in the series and OCU hasn't won in Plainview since 2014.WBU won 76-60 last season in Plainview.
 
Scouting the Flying Queens: Freshman guard Cania Mitchell leads WBU with 12.1 points per game, 51 assists and 35 steals. Wayland is 5-9 overall and 4-5 in the conference this season after an 88-66 loss at USAO on Saturday. The Queens are 2-2 at home this season.
