McPHERSON, Kan. – Oklahoma City picked up its second consecutive Sooner Athletic Conference road win on Saturday, knocking off Central Christian 71-63.
The Stars fired out of the blocks, shooting 57 percent in the first quarter and taking a 22-7 lead. OCU never trailed in the game.
"I told them today was going to be about energy and effort," said OCU Head Coach
Alexis Lawrence. "We've been battling a lot with numbers on the bench so I'm happy that we were able to find a way."
The Stars played the last two games with seven players but had an eighth available for Saturday.
Sunishka Kartik led OCU with 15 points and had eight rebounds while
Brooke Curry posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Amanda Sene Da Cruz added 13 points.
The Stars head west next week to play at Oklahoma Panhandle State on Thursday and Wayland Baptist on Saturday.
