CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Oklahoma City won both of its matches on Saturday to take 13^th place at the NWCA National Duals Tournament.
 
The 15^th-ranked Stars defeated No. 18 Dickinson State 38-10 and then walloped No. 12 Missouri Valley 33-4.
 
Ashley Avery, Bryce White and Ella Murphey won two more matches each on Saturday to stay perfect at 4-0 for the weekend.
 
Avery, unranked at 110 pounds, scored a technical fall, 10-0, against No. 8 Jenna Gerhardt of Dickinson State and repeated that same score against Raquel Garcia of MVC. For the weekend she had three technical falls and one pin.
 
Thirteenth-ranked White won by technical fall against MVC opponent after pinning Dickinson State's  Makenzie Shaw in 68 seconds at 131 pounds.
 
Murphey, ranked ninth at 207, got a forfeit and then pinned her MVC opponent in 45 seconds.
 
Symphony Veloz at 180 pounds, went 2-0 on Saturday to finish the weekend with three wins with a pin and a decision on Saturday.
 
Sixth-ranked Corin Lowe scored two wins at 145 with a pair of technical falls.
 
Makayla Munoz also went 2-0 on Saturday with a pin against DSU and a technical fall against MVC.
 
Natalia Posada, ranked 16^th, and Anna Vogt scored a win each at the 138-pound level.
 
"The ladies wrestled well this week. We had a tough first day, losing to two well-coached teams and their girls stepped up in the swing matches. The girls responded today and really wrestled well. Overall, the results were not what we were hoping for but that's why we come out here to get in these tough battles so we are battle tested for the post season," said OCU Head Coach Will McKinney.

On Friday, the fifteenth-ranked Stars lost to No. 7 Indiana Tech, 27-19, and No. 10 Cumberlands, 28-18.
 
Ashley got her season going with a pair of wins at 110 pounds, including a pin of second-ranked Emma Jones of Indiana Tech at the 5:10 mark. She also skunked Sarina Gunn of UC for a 10-0 technical fall.
 
Thirteenth-ranked White went 2-0 at 131 pounds. She pinned IT's ninth-ranked Andrea Hernandez with 34 seconds left in the first period and won after her Cumberlands opponent was injured at the end of the first period.
 
Murphey proved her No. 9 ranking with a pair of pins, including a 58-second match against Destiny Marquez of Cumberlands.
 
Symphony Veloz won by decision at 180 pounds against Indiana Tech and Coty Sessions got a 9-2 decision over UC's Sophia Satterfield at 124.
 
OCU returns to action on Jan. 16 when they visit Wayland Baptist.
