This Week in OCU Men's Soccer

Oklahoma City – Oklahoma City continues its Sooner Athletic Conference slate in men's soccer, hosting Oklahoma Panhandle State on Monday and travelling to Southwestern Christian on Saturday.  

Both games begin at 3:30 p.m. 
 
OCU Notebook 
Last Game: Oklahoma City opened the Sooner Athletic Conference season with a 2-2 tie against Mid-America Christian on Saturday. Harrison Knight had both goals for the Stars. 
 
Shutouts: Of the six goals allowed by OCU this season, two have been on penalty kicks. The Stars' defense has allowed just 6.3 shots per game and only 3.1 shots on goal per match. The result has been four shutouts and a shared shutout for goalkeeper Alexis Bertrand. Bertrand has logged a 0.63 goals allowed average this season. Bertrand leads the Sooner Athletic Conference with that GAA, as well as his .772 save percentage. 
  
Half and Half: The Stars have outscored opponents by a 21-6 margin this season, allowing two first- and four second-half goals. OCU has 12 first-half goals and nine second-half goals.  
 
Three-Game Trend: Over the last three games – a win, a loss and a tie, the Stars are equal to their opponents in scoring at 4-4. The Stars, however, have taken 14.3 shots per game to 8.7 for their opponents. 
 
The Goals: Bernardo Duarte leads the Stars and is third in the Sooner Athletic Conference with six goals this season – all coming in a three-game span during a six-game win streak. OCU has 21 goals on the season. Harrison Knight, Francisco Miquel and Ruben Fahiya have three each.  
  
On the Assist: Twelve Stars have combined for 15 assists this season. Ruben Fahiya leads the team with three and Thomas Brulay has two. 
  
Shoot Your Shot: After a sluggish start, OCU is averaging 12.4 shots per game. Two Stars, Bernardo Duarte (22) and Harrison Knight (21), have combined for 43 of the 124 shots. Over 41 percent of those 107 shots have been on goal and 17 percent have found the net. Bernardo Duarte leads the team with 11 shots on goal and Knight, Francisco Miquel and Thomas Brulay have six each. 
  
OPSU History: The Stars are 3-3 all-time against Oklahoma Panhandle State, including a 3-0 win in Goodwell last season.  
 
SCU History: After losing the first four games in the series, OCU has won two straight, including a 3-0 win at home last season. 
 
Scouting OPSU: The Aggies dropped a 2-0 contest at Southwestern Christian in their league opener  on Saturday to fall to 4-2-2 on the season. Calum Murphy averages a league-best four points per game. He has three goals and two assists. Othman Gherab and Ayoup Bader lead OPSU with four goals each. 
 
Scouting SCU: After their 2-0 win on Saturday over OPSU to open the SAC season, Southwestern Christian is 6-1-1 on the season. Augustine Mateos leads SCU with five goals this season. 
 
Coach Billy Martin: Coach Martin is 55-30-11 since taking the helm at OCU in 2021. His 14-win season in 2024 was his best so far. 
  
Keeper of the Week: Oklahoma City goalkeeper Alexis Bertrand's two clean sheets on the road earned him Sooner Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors on Sept. 2. Bertrand had three saves in those two wins.  
  
Hat Trick for Fahiya: Star Ruben Fahiya had a hat trick against Jarvis Christian. Those were the first goals of the season for Fahiya. Kenz Toms and Ethan Zeinalpor also had their first goals of the season in the 5-0 win with Toms getting the game-winner. 
 
Carded: While OCU has racked up 21 yellow cards this season, their opponents have also been physical. OCU opponents have 34 cards through 10 games.
