Men's Golf Conclude Regular Season Play with First Place Finish in Texas

WILLOW PARK, Tex.-- The Oklahoma City men's golf team earned another first-place finish Tuesday in their regular-season finale at Willow Park Golf Course. OCU entered the tournament as the number one team in NAIA. The Stars finished 10 strokes ahead of second place and host school, Texas Wesleyan. Coach Trimble's squad captured their sixth first-place finish of the 2025 season.

OCU stormed back in round two after shooting -2 in round one. The Rams of Texas Wesleyan shot a blistering –6 as a team in the opening round, but the Stars upped the ante with a –9 in the second round. OCU proceeded to pull away from the competition with an impressive –4 in the final round and were the only squad to score under par in the third round.

Leading the way for OCU was freshman Philipp Perzl. The Munich native posted a score of 208 and rose four spots from sixth place upon the conclusion of the final round. Perzl collected the fourth most birdies during the tournament and tallied the third best score on Par-5's.

Tres Hill, Michael Robson, Lorenzo Santinelli, and Christian Yanovitch finished inside the Top-10 on the individual leaderboard for the Stars. Hill completed the tournament tied for third, while Robson tied the second-ranked individual golfer in the country for fifth. Santinelli posted a 211, which was good for eighth place. The junior from Milan finished the tournament at –2 for a score of 213 in the event. Yanovitch, ranked fifth among all NAIA golfers, jumped into the Top-10 after the third round and tied for ninth place.

Carter Ray finished inside the Top-20 with his score of 218.

The Stars also had Luke Woods participate individually, and the junior from Oklahoma City finished 34th in the tournament.
