Oklahoma City wasted no time getting on the board, scoring two runs in each of the first two innings. After a scoreless third, the Stars put up four runs in the fourth to take control of the game. A three-run eighth inning provided additional insurance, as the OCU offense stayed relentless throughout the contest.
Hunter Lenochan led the charge, going 3-for-6 with two RBIs and two stolen bases. Aiden Van Rensum added two hits and two RBIs of his own, while Trent Kiraly tripled and drove in a pair of runs. Nic Bennett delivered a key double, knocking in two RBIs and swiping two bags in a strong all-around performance.
On the mound, Anthony Kopecky earned the win, tossing four solid innings while allowing just one earned run and striking out one. The bullpen battled through some command issues but managed to hold Sterling to just five hits on the day. Bauer Brittain picked up the save with three innings of relief, striking out one.
Despite some defensive struggles, as the Stars committed five errors, their aggressive baserunning and clutch hitting proved to be the difference. Oklahoma City capitalized on eight walks and timely hits with runners in scoring position to keep Sterling on its heels.
