This Week in OCU Women's Soccer

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City attempts to keep its season-long women's soccer unbeaten streak going with two matches this week.
 
The Stars visit USAO for a 5 p.m. contest on Tuesday and return home to take on Texas Wesleyan at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
 
OCU Notebook 
The Streak: The Stars are unbeaten through 11 games, going 9-0-2. It is the first time OCU has been unbeaten through 11 games since 1999 when the Stars won their first 23 games. 
 
Trends: Over the last three games, OCU is outscoring opponents 7-1. Kayleigh Haygood has four of those OCU goals.
 
Hat Tricks: The Stars have produced three hat tricks this season, with Kayleigh Haygood getting the latest one with her three goals against Oklahoma Panhandle State. Tatum Tallal got one on with three goals against Hesston. Amelia Horsford had a three-goal day in the win over Sterling. 
 
Brace for Impact: Six Stars have recorded a brace this season, including Amelia Horsford and Yami Ponce, who have done so three times each. Kayleigh Haygood, Tatum Tallal, Chloi Thurman and Saizlee Carlton have one each. 
 
1-2 Punch: Oklahoma City leads the SAC in scoring at 5.18 goals per game, with Amelia Horsford and Yami Ponce leading the Sooner Athletic Conference with 10 each. Kayleigh Haygood is tied for fourth with eight goals.

Blanco Blanks: Candela Blanco has allowed four goals through 11 games for a SAC-leading 0.381 goals allowed average. She has 23 saves and a conference-leading six shutouts. Blanco leads the Sooner Athletic Conference with a .852 save percentage. 
 
Marginally Speaking: Oklahoma City leads the Sooner Athletic Conference with 51 goals, 5.18 goals per game, 0.36 goals allowed per game and its 4.82 goal differential per game. 
 
Stingy Defense: The Stars have allowed just 55 shots all season and 21 of those have come in OCU's 1-1 ties against Mid-America Christian and Our Lady of the Lake. in the 1-1 tie. OCU allows 5.0 shots per game. 
 
Just Trying to Help: Kayleigh Haygood leads the Sooner Athletic Conference with seven assists, while Saizlee Carlton and Reese Roberts are tied for third with six. A dozen Stars have contributed OCU's 35 total assists this season.
 
Last Contest: Oklahoma City stayed unbeaten with a 1-0 Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer victory at Southwestern Christian on Saturday. Reese Roberts got the game-winner in the 57th minute, collecting her second goal of the season. OCU outshot its host 18-2 and Candela Blanco recorded two saves for her sixth and OCU's seventh shutout of the season. 
 
Half and Half: Through 11 games this season, OCU has only been shut out in four halves. OCU has 18 first-half goals and 39 second-half goals this season. OCU is averaging just over 3.5 goals in the second half. That average is better than that of seven other teams' total scoring average in the SAC. 
 
History vs. USAO: The Drovers have won the last two meetings, including a 2-1 win at OCU last season.
 
History vs. TWU: OCU is unbeaten in the last seven contests with Texas Wesleyan but the Rams ended a six-game winning streak by OCU with a 1-1 tie last season. Reese Roberts had OCU's goal with an assist by Chloi Thurman. TWU got the equalizer with less than two minutes left in the contest. 
 
Scouting the Drovers: The Drovers are 6-2-4 overall and 1-0-2 in the SAC after a 1-1 tie at Mid-America Christian on Saturday. Ilse De Jong leads USAO with seven goals and has two assists.
 
Scouting the Rams: Texas Wesleyan dropped to 2-6-2 overall and 0-3 in the league after a 1-0 loss at Central Christian on Saturday. Gracie Spradley leads the team with two goals.
