The Stars on the Course: Christian Yanovitch, Carter Ray, Simon Jansson, Philipp Perzl and Lorenzo Santinelli make up the OCU team for the tournament with Luke Woods golfing as an individual entrant. Santinelli makes his return after missing the last tournament and Woods makes his second appearance of the season after playing in the season opener.

The Field: The 13-team field includes OCU and the host school, the University of the Southwest, as well as eighth-ranked Texas Wesleyan, national poll vote recipient Southwestern Christian, Oklahoma Panhandle State, Texas A&M-Victoria, Texas A&M-Texarkana, Texas A&M-San Antonio, Our Lady of the Lake, Louisiana Christian, New Mexico Junior College, Mesalands and New Mexico Military Institute.

Last Tournament: Oklahoma City finished ninth at the Invite at Innisbrook last week, moving up one slot in the final round on Tuesday. Simon Jansson had an incredible turnaround, moving up from 94th to a tie for 42nd. After shooting 85 in the second round on Monday, Jansson birdied seven holes on Tuesday and posted a 66 – the best score by any golfer in any round.
Jansson went 76-85-66. Christian Yanovitch led the Stars in 21st place with a third-round score of 75 after rounds of 75 and 72. Philipp Perzl had rounds of 74, 74 and 77. He ended with seven birdies and finished 33rd. Carter Ray ended in a tie with Jansson in 42nd place, going 76-73-78. Cameron Bozyk went 80-78-78 for the tournament for 83rd.

The Course: Rockwind Community Links GC in Hobbs hosted the 2022 New Mexico Open by the Sun Country PGA. The front nine provides for an outer "loop" that surrounds the interior back nine and plays in a clockwise direction around the perimeter of the property and into the native vegetation. This outer loop at Rockwind allows for a full experience of the site that catches glimpses of the train tracks, a windmill, The Soaring Society of America headquarters and the virgin ground that surrounds the course.
