BLANCHARD – Oklahoma City finished in a tie for third place Tuesday at USAO's Battle at Winter Creek women's golf tournament.
The No. 10 Stars were 41 over par for the round and tied with USAO at 75 over for the tournament with rounds of 300, 310 and 329
Logan Allen was the brightest Star, finishing second, two strokes behind Texas Wesleyan's Makenna Junkin. Allen was three over par for the tournament with rounds of 70, 72 and 77. She was the only Star to record multiple birdies in the third round on Tuesday, collecting four on holes five, 14, 17 and 18. She finished the tournament with a dozen birdies.
Klaudie Karnikova and
Beatriz Pinheiro tied for 13th at 24 over par. Karnikova went 75-82-83 while Pinheiro had rounds of 79, 74 and 87.
Taylor Tevis birdied the fourth hole on Tuesday during her round of 84. She finished 18th at 27 over par with rounds of 76 and 83 on Monday.
Paula Ortiz, who also birdied the fourth hole, finished out the team scoring for OCU in 35th at 39 over par. She shot 88 and 82 on Monday and finished up with an 85 on Tuesday.
Carrie Bowers ended up in 23rd place at 30 over par with rounds of 84, 79 and 83.
Gracie Levonitis had rounds of 87, 79 and 84 to finish at 34 over par and in 29th place.
"A disappointing final round for our squad," said OCU Head Coach Josh Groznry." Proud of Logan who put together a good tournament with finishing second place individually. We have a lot to work as a group this off season to get ready for the Spring season."
The tournament concludes the fall season for the Stars.
