STARS OUTLOOK
Oklahoma City enters Saturday as the number one scoring team in the NAIA with 35 goals through six matches while allowing just two. Ever since scoring the most goals since Sept. 16, 2021 by beating Randall 14-0 on Sept. 3, the Stars had to go through Bellevue who was ranked fifth in the country which ended in a 1-1 draw on its home turf. The Bruins struck first as Bellevue took advantage of a Stars missed opportunity as Ombeni Mubake drilled the first goal of the match in the 13th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Oklahoma City remained calm and stayed in control from the Bruins goal all the way until the end of 90 minutes. OCU came out maintaining most of the possession in the second half. After a shot attempt was blocked fromÂ
Lorenzo Nardini it wasÂ
Bernardo Duarte who came up with it to knock in the Stars first goal in the 62nd minute that knotted things up at one. Most recently, Oklahoma City kept the loss column empty by taking down Central Baptist last Thursday 2-1.
Marco Alongi led the way for Oklahoma city scoring both OCU goals seven minutes apart in the second half both being assisted by
Thomas Brulay to clinch the one point victory.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
David Imbert
Imbert's season is off to a hot start scoring five goals and having five assists while breaking a program record with hat trick in under a minute and a half. Imbert currently ties among three others for second most goals on the team.Â
Ruben Fahiya
Fahiya has tallied two multi-goal games this season first coming in the season-opener against Bethany where he burst onto the scene with a pair of goals and one assist before scoring a pair in the 14-0 win over Randall.
Thomas BrualyÂ
The Stars captain Thomas Brualy has been the heart of the Stars squad. After sitting out last year, Brualy returned with force as he currently holds the most assists in all of the NAIA with eight. Brulay has put together three games with multiple assists with his season-best of three coming against Bethany in the season-opener.
Marco Alongi
Alongi enters Saturday as the Stars top scorer with seven goals on the year. Alongi comes off a strong showing scoring both goals in the 2-1 win over Central Baptist which was the third time this season Alongi has netted multiple goals in a match.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES...
Southwestern Christian will come into Saturday's contest with a 4-2 overall record after back-to-back wins over Bethany College and Arlington Baptist. The two losses on the Eagles schedule are Baker 2-1 and Kansas Wesleyan 3-2. SCU and OCU have two opponents in common as Southwestern Christian met Randall in August winning 5-0 before taking down Bethany 1-0. Southwestern Christian has four players with multiple goals as the Eagles are led by Teejay Chiororo with five who began the year with a pair of goals in each of the first two games while scoring and assisting in the Eagles most recent game against Arlington Baptist.
SERIES HISTORY
Oklahoma City will be looking to snap a seven game losing streak to Southwestern Christian going back to 2017. SCU holds a 7-3-2 all-time record over Oklahoma City dating back to 2013.
