How it Happened
The Stars' first goal of the 2024-25 campaign only took 11 minutes to score and less than 25 minutes after the initial goal was scored, OCU added two more first half goals to take a 3-0 lead into the halftime break. The Lady Stars logged the first goal of the season on an assisted scoring strike from sophomore Amelia Horsford to another sophomore Reese Roberts. Junior Mid-Fielder, Inka Silz of Kopernikus, Germany assisted on the Stars' second goal which was scored by Forward Hallie Crom in the 34th minute. Almost immediately after Crom's goal, Jadyn Basler of Yukon netted an unassisted goal to send OCU to halftime with a major advantage on the scoreboard and in the momentum department. The Stars held Jarvis to 74 minutes and 33 seconds of scoreless soccer before they allowed an unassisted goal to Mitzy Guereca at the 74:34 mark in the match. The three first half goals proved to be enough for the Stars to win the contest against the Bulldogs.
