OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City softball team placed themselves in the Opening Round Championship Game after defeating Houston-Victoria 5-0 on Tuesday afternoon.

Game Summary
The Stars wasted no time to get started on Tuesday as lead-off hitter
Rally Radacy lined a sharp triple down the right field line to begin the day for OCU.
Baileigh Loux added the second triple of the frame coming with two outs, putting Oklahoma City on top 1-0 after the first half inning.
The contest remained a one score game all the way until the sixth when the Stars put up two runs in the final two innings of play as
Emersen Heron knocked in
Kamryn Garvie on a sacrifice fly before
Tara Hoehner provided an RBI double down the left field line to score Loux and go up 3-0.
In the seventh, it was Garvie supplying two-run double scoring Radacy and
Kaitlyn Jones to take a 5-0 lead and earn the win to punch its ticket to the Opening Round finale.
Game Notes
Oklahoma City delivered its second straight shutout while scoring five runs on nine hits while Houston-Victoria fell scoreless with five hits and one error.
Two Stars came away with multiple base hits in
Rally Radacy and
Baileigh Loux. Radacy finished 2-for-4 on the day with her fourth triple of the season tying a team-high along with two runs scored. The junior third basemen scored for the 12th time in the last 14 games and crossed the plate multiple times for thr 21st time this year.
Baileigh Loux extended her hitting streak to five consecutive games after going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Loux scored for the sixth time in seven games while snagging her 10th stolen base of the year.
Kamryn Garvie led the way with a game-high two RBI coming on her 17th double of the season in the seventh inning.
Freshman
Tara Hoehner put together a 1-for-3 day at the plate notching her 21st double of the season to place herself within one of the team lead held by
Emersen Heron.
Shelbey Cornelson was given the ball to make the start on back-to-back days as the senior dealt another complete game shutout allowing five hits to go along with eight strikeouts.
Next Up
Oklahoma City will look to punch its ticket to Columbus, Georgia on Wednesday, May 15, however the Stars will have to go through the Braves of Ottawa University slated for a 1 p.m. first pitch at Ann Lacy Stadium.
