NEWTON, Kan.—The Oklahoma City University men's golf team wrapped up the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament with a team placement inside the Top-3. OCU had four golfers place inside the Top-20 for individual results with Michael Robson and Tres Hill placing inside the Top-10 spots.
The Stars concluded the event at 31-over par with a score of 895, just three strokes behind Wayland Baptist for second place. The first-place team, Texas Wesleyan finished at +10, eighteen strokes ahead of the second-place squad.
Junior Michael Robson finished just shy of taking the individual crown. Robson scored 219, which was good for three-over par and three strokes behind first place. OCUs' Robson recorded the second-best round of all golfers who participated with a round two score of 68. The junior finished the tournament tied for second in total birdies collected (12).
Tres Hill was second for all OCU golfers with a six-over par score, which earned him a tenth-place finish in the field of 38 participants. Hill tallied a score of 222 while shooting his best number (73) in rounds one and two. The junior from Elk City narrowly finished six strokes behind first place and missed a top five finish by just two strokes.
Lorenzo Santinelli shot 11-over par, allowing him to finish 15th on the individual leaderboard. Santinelli finished with a total score of 227.
Bo Robbins rounded out the Stars who finished in the Top-20 for the event, placing 16th. Robbins earned his best score of the tournament in the first round with a score of 72.
Two OCU golfers, Michael Robson and Tres Hill, earned SAC All-Conference honors this season.
