OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City women's golf team got off to a hot start on day one through 36 holes and continued its mission towards its second consecutive tournament win with a dominating effort of 20 under par while
Maddi Kamas won her second straight tournament with a 14 under par performance in the 56 player field.
The Stars finished the event at 20-under par, with a score of 844, 68 strokes in front of the second place team in William Penn University who finished 48 over par with a total score of 912.
Maddi Kamas secured her second consecutive victory this spring after capping off a dominating performance with an eagle on the final hole of the tournament. Kamas shot under 70 in all three rounds which included a pair of eagles in round three to wrap up her 54 hole journey with a 14 under par showing and a total of 202.
Jamie Welsh followed in right behind Kamas coming in second place after shooting three under par. Welsh saw her top round come in round two going bogey free with three birdies for a 69.
OCU filled up the top three spots with
Logan Allen tying Williams Penn's Oliva Lange for third. Allen went under par in rounds two and three which included six birdies in round two for her top score of a 69 while seeing another strong performance come in the final round with a 70 where Allen sank in an eagle on the par-5 hole seven.
Paige Wood,
Aubrey House and
Meghan Charles all filled up the rest of the top 10 for the Stars as Wood came in fifth overall shooting even par.
Wood, a junior from McKinney, Texas went under par in round one with a 70 after seeing just one bogey to go along with three birdies all coming on the front nine.
House finished in seventh place with a seven over par and a score of 224 with back-to-back 74's followed with a 75 in the final round.
Charles, who played as an individual came in right behind House tying for eighth with Ashton Begley from Oklahoma State as Charles finished off the tournament with her best score in round three of a 73 after picking up a pair of birdies on the front nine.
Rounding out the Stars stellar performance was
Carrie Bowers who also played as an individual shot her personal best 36 hole score while also setting a PR of a 54 hole tournament. Bowers shot heated up in round two to break 80 with a score of 79 before finishing off the tournament with her best score of 76 while getting a birdie on the 18th hole.
