OKLAHOMA CITY – The OCU baseball team continued its hot start to the 2024 season by adding two more wins on Friday to remain unbeaten as Trent Kiraly smashed a walk-off homer in game one before the Stars strung together another come-from-behind victory in game two.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Bellevue (3-4) opened the day with a hot start, scoring three runs in the first and two in the second to take an early 5-0 lead.
Oklahoma City got on the board in the bottom frame of the second inning as Barrett Daniel singled to left field to bring in Trent Kiraly for the only Stars run of the game.
The Bruins scored one in the fifth and one in the seventh as a bases loaded hit by pitch brought in the sixth run of the game followed by a sac fly in the seventh by Nick Gravel for run number seven.

Barrett Daniel brought in the Stars one and only run with a single into left field as Daniel finished the game as the only Star to have multiple base hits after a 2-for-3 day at the plate.

Aiden Alexander extended his on base streak to nine games as the sophomore reached with base hit in the first inning, making it the eighth time in nine games Alexander has had a hit in.

Trent Kiraly went 1-for-2 and scored the Stars only run as the senior extended his hitting streak to eight games after a base hit up the middle in the sixth inning.

The OCU bullpen began its work in the fifth inning as Spencer Biggerstaff took over for Jacob Burkett in the fifth inning as the freshman allowed one run on one hit while striking out one.

Issac Horstman came on for his first appearance of the year for four innings of work giving up just one run on four hits while striking out three.

Oklahoma City saw its unbeaten record come to an end falling one game short of having its best start to a season since 2009.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Concordia (1-2) got going from the start with Jaiden Quinn doubling to right field to take a 1-0 lead.
The Bulldogs capitalized midway through the seven-inning contest with seven combined runs coming in the third and fourth innings as Bradley Hallock had the big two run shot over the left wall.
Oklahoma City (8-2) scored its only run in the fourth inning with Aiden Alexander bringing in Spencer Biggerstaff with a single to shortstop.
Concordia added two more in the sixth and finally one more in the seventh with Quinn adding his second RBI double of the game to finish off the 11-1 final score.

The Stars slow offensive day didn't stop Trent Kiraly from having a big game with three hits to extend his hitting streak nine game.

Aiden Alexander reached base once again after batting in the team's only run to move Alexander's streak to 10 straight games to reach base.

Reese Ratchford made his first start of the season on the bump and went 2.1 innings pitched while surrendering five runs on six hits.

Oklahoma City left 10 runners on base as the Stars dropped game two on Saturday falling to 8-2 on the season.
