OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City women's soccer team punched its ticket to the semifinal round after
Kyrie Soto notched her first her career goal with 20 minutes to play.

How it Happened
Oklahoma City saw a handful of attacks early on get called back for offsides while
Hallie Crom,
Reese Roberts and
Abby Russell all had shots on-goal that were saved the Lions keeper.
Amelia Horsford had a chance on-goal in the second half before the Stars were able to break through as freshman
Kyrie Soto picked up the loose the ball and sent it to the back of the net for the first score of the contest. Nelson had one last threat with five minutes to go as save by the Stars defense kept the ball from going in just before Laura Bados took a try that was swatted away with an immaculate save by the OCU sophomore keeper
Gemma Harvey putting a cap on the match as Oklahoma City clinched the victory 1-0.
Game Notes
- Both teams tied with five shots on-goal while Nelson attempted one more shot than OCU at 10-9.
- Off the bench, freshman from Mustang Kyrie Soto nailed her first career goal that provided the Stars with their only goal of the night.
- Oklahoma City goalie Gemma Harvey had one of the biggest saves of her career late in the contest coming away with four on the night while pitching her fourth shutout of the season.
- Oklahoma City beats Nelson for the ninth consecutive time after defeating the Lions earlier in the year 3-1 back on Oct. 22.
- With the win, OCU advances to the Sooner Athletic Conference Semifinal round for the third straight season and will look to reach the SAC championship game for the first time since 2013.
