OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City women's basketball team wraps up its home stand as the Stars host Langston University on Thursday at 6 PM.

About the Stars       

  • Oklahoma City enters Thursday's contest with a 5-13 overall record while going 4-8 in SAC play.  
  • The Stars dropped their fourth consecutive game on Tuesday night as #21 John Brown earned a 24-point victory over OCU 
  • Senior Amaya Gordon leads Oklahoma City in scoring with 14.3 PPG as well as holding the team lead in rebounds with 8.8 RPG. On Tuesday, Gordon posted her seventh double-double of the season while moving her double-double streak to four straight games 
  • Freshman Jerzie Bryant comes in as the Stars only other double-figure scorer with 12.9 PPG. Bryant played a major role in taking down #17 MACU after posting a career-high 23 points against the Evangels back on Jan. 11.  
  • Freshman Jazmin Adams and senior Cacie Gorman have been a tough tandem down low for Oklahoma City as Adams provides 9.3 and 6.6 RPG. Gorman on the other hand is putting up 6.1 PPG while grabbing 7.1 RPG, second most on the team.  
  • Oklahoma City is starting to improve in the shooting category as the Stars place eighth in the Sooner Athletic Conference with a 37.7 FG% as a team.   
  • Amaya Gordon ranks fourth in the conference in RPG while Cacie Gorman leads the SAC in blocks per game with 1.8.  

About the Lions 

  • Langston has seen a great deal of success in the 2023-24 season as the Lions come in with a 14-3 overall record while going 9-2 in conference play. 
  • The Lions come off a 77-66 loss to Wayland Baptist on Saturday as the Pioneers snapped an eight-game winning streak Langston was on.  
  • Hailey Jordan paces three different Lions who average 10 points or more as Jordan averages 15.4 PPG, eighth best in the Sooner Athletic Conference.  
  • Kamesha Moore follows in behind with 11.9 PPG and 5.2 RPG. In the past two games Moore has been limited to just five points in each contest which came after scoring a season-high 19 against Central Christian on Dec. 14.  
  • Senior Kameron Shelley rounds out the double-figure scorers for the Lions with 10.5 PPG while shooting 40.5% from the field.  
  • Langston ranks third in points per game as a team and in team field goal percentage among the SAC. 

Previous Meeting 

  • The last time these two schools met came back on Nov. 30 as Langston ran away with an 84-61 victory  
  • Jerzie Bryant led Oklahoma City with a team-high 20 points while shooting 4-7 from deep. 
  • Langston saw four girls reach double-digits in scoring as Hailey Jordan led the Lions in scoring with 23 points and nine rebounds while Makayla Transou notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.  

Series History        

  • Oklahoma City leads the all-time series between the two schools with a 15-6 advantage over the Lions dating back to 2009.

  • Oklahoma City hits the road to McPherson, Kan., as the Stars take on Central Christian at 2 PM on Saturday, Jan. 27.
