OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma women's wrestling team earned a dominate victory on senior day in its dual against Carl Albert State College as Eliana Martinez got the Stars going by taking down the number one ranked JUCO wrestler in the 109 pound class.

On Sunday, Oklahoma City honored three seniors in
Sophia Smith,
Ryann Rumsey and
Morgan Mackey.
Smith, a four-year member of the OCU women's wrestling team, Smith received the OCU Influential Woman Award as well as winning the Women's wrestling wrestler of the year award in 2023. She has twice been named SAC wrestler of the week and once NAIA wrestler of the week in 2023. Sophie has earned multiple All American USA wrestling honors as a Cadet, Junior, U23 and Senior competitor. Smith is a 2x NAIA all-American and has been a two-time Sooner Athletic Conference Runner-up. She is currently ranked 2nd in the nation in the NAIA. A Political Science and Philosophy major, Smith plans to attend law school following graduation. She has so far been accepted to Drake, Marquette and Drexel law schools. She plans to be an attorney working in sports law with female athletes. Eventually she would like to be a judge. In her free time, Smith enjoys drawing, painting, reading, playing with her cats and listening to Taylor Swift.
Rumsey, a four-year member of the OCU women's wrestling team, was a Sooner Athletic Conference Championship finalist in 2022 and 2023 as she finished 3rd place at the SAC Championship. She is a two-time NAIA National qualifier. She is currently ranked 17th in the nation. A Criminal Justice major with a minor in Psychology, Rumsey will join the police academy following graduation. She plans to be a police officer in Moore, Oklahoma. Eventually she would like to become a homicide detective.
Mackey, a two-year member of the OCU women's wrestling team. As a transfer from University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Morgan made an instant impact on our team. After transferring December 2022, Mackey finished her 2023 season off with a 4th place finish at the Sooner Athletic Conference Championships. A Criminal Justice major, Mackey plans to move back to Las Vegas to help coach at SLAM Academy with her dad following her graduation. While home, her goal is to enlist in the Navy and join the Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps, known as JAG. In her free time, Mackey enjoys hanging out with her friends and Coach Will's kids
Oklahoma City will be back on the mat on Feb. 3 in the Grandview Open in Des Moines, Iowa.
