About the Stars

  • OCU comes off a tough defeat to Southwestern Christian as OCU trailed by just two points with 30 seconds to play before the Eagles closed out the contest with free throws to win the game by five.
  • Oklahoma City currently holds a 4-5 record in Sooner Athletic Conference play and sits in a four-way tie for sixth place.
  • OCU will look to get back in the win column after having quite possibly its biggest win of the season come last Thursday after the Stars took down 17th ranked MACU inside Abe Lemons Arena 75-69.
  • Senior Amaya Gordon leads Oklahoma City in scoring with 13.5 PPG as well as holding the team lead in rebounds with 8.1 RPG. Gordon comes off a big day on Saturday as the senior came one assist shy of a triple-double after scoring 11 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and coming up with nine assists tying her career-high.
  • Jerzie Bryant has been on a tear lately in her recent games as the freshman has scored 15 plus points in her last three games while notching a career-high 23 points in the win over MACU.
  • Jazmin Adams has also got off to a great start in her freshman campaign and just like Bryant, Adams has reached double-figures in her last three games and even set a career-high of 19 points shooting 9-12 from the field on Saturday against SCU.
  • Senior Cacie Gorman continues to get better and better coming off a season-high in scoring against Southwestern Christian with 14 points and 10 rebounds earning her second double-double of the season.
  • Oklahoma City will look to find its groove shooting from deep as the Stars sit last in the conference in three-point percentage and three-pointers made.
  • Despite the struggles from range, Oklahoma City comes in as the fifth-best free-throw shooting team at 72.9% from the line.
  • The defense for OCU has gotten better game by game as the Stars allow the fifth least number of points to opponents this season by giving up only 62.2 PPG.

About the Drovers

  • USAO comes into Thursday with a 10-5 overall record while going 6-3 in conference play thus far.
  • The Drovers come off an eight-point loss to one of the conference's hottest teams at Langston University.
  • Science & Arts has suffered its other two defeats to MACU (90-75) and Oklahoma Panhandle State (60-52), two teams that Oklahoma City has already beaten.
  • USAO is led by the SAC's leading scorer Lainey Morrow averaging 18.3 PPG on 59.2% from the field. Morrow leads the Drovers in rebounding with 8.9 per game, the third-best among conference.
  • Diaka Berete is the Drovers other double-digit scorer averaging 12.6 PPG while hauling in the team's second-highest rebound total with 5.9 per game. Berate has provided the Drovers with four 20-plus point games while seeing her season-high come in the win against Wayland Baptist with 26 points including six three-pointers.
  • Jordan Bloomfield has been Science & Arts top shooter from beyond the arc as the senior averages 9.4 PPG while shooting 44.8% from long range and 88.9% from the charity stripe.
  • Bloomfield has tallied two games this season where she has sunk five threes seeing her season-high come in the opening game of the season against Arlington Baptist with 19 points.
  • USAO enters as the second-best scoring team in the Sooner Athletic Conference by averaging 76.5 PPG while scoring 90 or more points in five games this season.

Series History

  • Oklahoma City holds a large advantage over Science & Arts in the all-time series with a 30-5 record over the Drovers dating back to 2006.
  • Despite the big margin of victory for OCU, the recent success leans in the direction of USAO as the Drovers have taken the last four meetings against the Stars.

What's Next

  • Oklahoma City will return to Abe Lemons Arena on Saturday to tip off a three-game home stand as the Stars play Texas Wesleyan at 2 PM.
