OKLAHOMA CITY – The OCU women's golf team brought home the hardware after claiming first place in the Southwestern Christian Invitational on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Stars women's golf team finished the two-day tournament at Lake Hefner Golf Course with a total team score of 559 with nine under-par rounds led by last year's NAIA women's golfer of the year
Maddi Kamas who posted a 69 in each round with a total score of 138. Sophomore out of Southlake, Texas
MaKayla Tyrrell finished one stroke behind Kamas with a score of 71 in round one and a 68 in round two.
Jamie Welsh, a junior from Coppell, Texas tied with Tyrrell for the second-best score on the team with a 70 in round one and a 69 in round two. OCU takes home its first trophy of the fall season after winning the invitational by 50 strokes.
NEXT EVENT
The Oklahoma City women's golf team will be back on the course next week for the Missouri State/Payne Stewart Memorial in Springfield, Mo. The event will take place at Rivercut Golf Course on Sept. 11-12.
