First Half

Plenty of offense flourished in Thursday's match and it got going in the 11th minute of play with a header from Keita Kishino on an assist from Jayson Riley. Just over two minutes later Ottawa tied things up with a goal by Peyton Montiel-Villegas, an assist by Tom Cohen making it a 1-1 tie. Two more goals would come the way of Ottawa in the 21st and 22nd minutes as Tom Cohen put Ottawa in front 2-1 and Montiel-Villegas netted his second goal of the evening to give OCU a two-goal lead. In the 25th minute, Marco Alongi found the back of the net on the assist from Riley again bringing the two-point deficit down to one after the third goal to happen in five minutes. After a heavy amount of offense, the score remained 3-2 heading into the halftime break with Ottawa out in front.

Second Half

Only down by one the Stars needed to keep it close, however, eight minutes in Ottawa struck again as Jamaine Turner put the Spirit back up by two. In the 66th minute, David Imbert found the net to cut the lead back down to one. Trying to find a way to tie it the Stars had a hard time taking advantage of the opportunities they were given. As it got later into the second half of play Ottawa scored yet again with Turner's second goal of the night to give Ottawa a cushioned 5-3 lead with 10 minutes to go. Having come back already in the final 10 minutes this season OCU needed to score fast to do it again. Oklahoma City again struggled to get any chances to score and missed on opportunities they received. In the 87th minute, Cohen scored again to close out the match and put his team up three over the Stars. The deficit was too much for the Stars to overcome as Ottawa secured the win 6-3.
