BELLEVUE, Okla. - Oklahoma City University was handed a 6-3 loss by #5 Bellevue (Neb.) on Tuesday at Don Roddy Field. The Stars fell 5-1 and 3-1 in the two teams' previous matchups.
The Bruins scored first off of
Tyler Polk with two runs in the first inning. The Stars came back with a run in the second as
Trent Kiraly singled and scored on a fielding error by the Bruins third basemen.
Bellevue added two more in the second as the Stars would commit two errors in the inning.
OCU came back to within one run off of
Felix Chenier-Rondeau's homerun in the fourth inning to make it a 4-3 ball game.
Jesse Fonteboa scored on the play.
OCU would go quiet the rest of the way picking up two hits and six total base runners as Bellevue added two more runs in the ninth to put the game away.
Rondeau picked up two of the Stars six hits and added two RBIs as well going 2-for-4.
Jesse Fonteboa went 2-for-4 as well with a run. Kiraly and
Barrett Daniel both had a hit as well.
Tyler Polk struck out nine batters in 8 and two thirds' innings pitched while Blake Crippen of Bellevue struck out six in his complete game.
OCU will play Doane (Neb.) again on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. to determine who will play Bellevue at 3:30.
