YPSILANTI, Mich. – Oklahoma City University came in third place in the NAIA competitive cheerleading championships Saturday at the George Gervin GameAbove Arena.

OCU posted an overall score of 89.68. The Stars' finals performance garnered a score of 90.05.

Oklahoma City boasted of its fifth 90-point performance score of the season in the finals. Finals scores make up 75 percent of a team's overall score, while preliminary scores count 25 percent towards the final tally.

"This was definitely the best performance we have had all year," OCU coach Alicia Bailey said. "We peaked at the right time and executed our skills at a very high level. The amount of energy and showmanship the athletes displayed was amazing. I truly believe we put on an amazing show for the crowd. I'm incredibly proud of our third-place finish."

Saint Ambrose (Iowa) finished atop the team standings with a 95.51 followed by Concordia Ann Arbor (Mich.) with its 90.76.
