McPHERSON, Kan. –
Annilia Dawn's 27 points helped lead Oklahoma City University past Central Christian (Kan.), 84-69, in Sooner Athletic Conference play.
Dawn's 27-point output was a career high, and came on 10-for-17 from the field. Dawn is a senior psychology major from Amarillo, Texas. OCU moved to 10-10, 7-8 in Sooner Athletic Conference women's basketball.
The Stars' other top performers were
Fiona Wilson and
Cacie Gorman. Wilson, a senior human performance major from Greenland, Ark., had 12 points as she hit 4 of 5 3-pointers. Gorman, a junior psychology major added 10 points. OCU had 40 total rebounds as every player accumulated minutes, scored, and had at least one rebound.
OCU outscored Central Christian 31-11 in the first quarter and 67-43 at the half. Their largest lead was 30 points in the third quarter.
"The SAC is a tough conference," said OCU coach
Kris Seigenthaler. "To battle and get a road win this afternoon is huge. Now we shift our focus to a three-game road stretch in six days."
OCU will head to Siloam Springs, Ark. to take on John Brown (Ark.) at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
