THE MATCHUP
 
•  Oklahoma City University aims to take down Texas Wesleyan, ranked 17th in NAIA women's basketball
•  OCU has gone 19-3 against Texas Wesleyan over the years. They fell 63-61 in their last game against the Rams on Jan. 17, 2022.
 
ABOUT THE STARS
 
•  The Stars hold a record of 8-8, 5-6.
•  They came back from 14 points down to beat MACU 73-71 in their last game.
•  Annilia Dawn, a senior psychology major from Amarillo, Texas led with 16 points. Ray Osborn spearheaded the comeback as she had a season high 16 points.
•   OCU tied it with 6:57 left and went on to take the lead on free throws just seconds later.
•  Dawn averages 13.1 points per game now on the season.
•  The Stars defense ranks among the best with a 32nd rank in the NAIA in blocks.
•  Oklahoma City has seized 20 SAC regular-season championships and 12 SAC Tournament titles. Oklahoma City owns 26 appearances in the NAIA Division I Championship Tournament with nine national championships won in 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017 with four national runner-up finishes (2003, 2004, 2005, 2019)
 
ABOUT THE LADY RAMS
 
•. Texas Wesleyan prevailed over 19th-ranked Science & Arts 87-68 on Monday in Fort Worth, Texas. The Lady Rams extended their winning streak to 16 consecutive games to equal the program record
•  The Lady Rams come into the game with a 17-1,12-0 record. They are atop the SAC standings.
•  Taryn Wills led with 26 points off the bench. Wills is averaging 14.6 points per game.
•  Texas Wesleyan is ranked fourth in the NAIA in points, sixth in points per game with 83.6, and fifth in offensive rebounds per game.
•  SAC coaches placed Texas Wesleyan at second in the preseason league poll 
 
MEET THE COACHES
 
Kris Seigenthaler (first year at OCU)
 
•  Kris Seigenthaler assumed the OCU head-coaching job after spending the last four years at Loyola (La.) as an assistant coach. Loyola made four national-tournament appearances with four 20-win seasons and twice sweeping the Southern States Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament titles
• Seigenthaler has had coaching stops as an assistant at Auburn University at Montgomery (Ala.), Faulkner (Ala.) and Shorter (Ga.). While at Auburn Montgomery, the Women's Basketball Coaches Association included Seigenthaler among its rising stars in the coaching profession on the Thirty Under 30 list
• Seigenthaler began her coaching career as a graduate assistant at Shorter following a playing career at the University of Montevallo (Ala.) 
 
Brenita Jackson (44-8, second year with Texas Wesleyan)
 
• Brenita Jackson became the John Hudson SAC coach of the year after leading Texas Wesleyan to a 25-7 mark for the first 25-win season in program history since 2011-12 and first NAIA Championship Tournament appearance since 2010-11 
• As head coach at Lon Morris (Texas), she led the team to a single-season school record for wins with a 19-12 record in 2010-11. Jackson became NJCAA Region XIV coach of the year after guiding San Jacinto (Texas) to a 23-9 mark and the program's first national ranking in 2014-15. San Jacinto had been 3-27 the previous season. Jackson came to Texas Wesleyan after serving as assistant coach at Little Elm High School (Texas) 
• Jackson became an all-conference recipient at both Louisiana and Lon Morris during her college playing career
