MONKEY ISLAND, Okla. – Alex Bloxham came up with Oklahoma City University's top finish in the Missouri Southern Fall Invitational on Tuesday at Shangri-La Country Club.
Bloxham, a freshman from Broken Arrow, Okla., finished tied for 28th place in the individual standings. The Stars, ranked 11th in NAIA men's golf, took 12th place among the teams.
Oklahoma City carded a 307-308-298–913 on the par-72, 6,876-yard course. The Stars tested themselves against a field including two ranked NCAA Division II teams. Missouri-St. Louis, ranked 19th, prevailed in a playoff against Henderson State (Ark.). Third-ranked Oklahoma Christian came in two shots off the pace.
Bloxham totaled a 77-75-72–224 while knocking down eight birdies. Leandro Mihaich supplied OCU with a 79-73-73–225 to tie for 32nd. Mihaich, a freshman from Cordoba, Argentina, also made eight birdies.
Tres Hill produced a 73-79-74–226, good for 35th. Hill, a sophomore from Elk City, Okla., accumulated seven birdies and two eagles over the 54 holes.
OCU's Bosten Benn shot a 78-88-79–245, while Will Fore added an 86-81-82–249.
The Stars completed the fall season with two victories. OCU returns to action in the Las Vegas Shootout on Feb. 20-21 in Boulder City, Nev.
