Stars win 4x800 relay in Southwestern Relays

WINFIELD, Kan. – Oklahoma City University's 4x800-meter relay team finished first in the Southwestern Relays on Saturday at Richard L. Lantz Stadium. 

The Stars' 4x800 relay team as well as JaQuavious Harris posted A standard times for the NAIA men's track & field championships. Harris took second place in the 800. 

Halen Biggs of OCU came up with a third-place showing in the 1,500 meters, while Milan Todorovic grabbed fourth in the 800. 

OCU's tandem of Shimales Abebe, Harris, Brendan Robeaux and Fares Marrouf picked up the win with a mark of 7 minutes, 42.03 seconds. The Stars' time ranks eighth among the NAIA this season. OCU had another team finish fourth with a time of 8:19.16 in the same race. 

Harris produced a second-place time of 1:51.87. Harris, a freshman from Cheraw, S.C., owns the 11th best 800-meter time in the nation on 2021-22. Todorovic, a senior from Belgrade, Serbia, put up the fourth-place time with a 1:55.77 in the same event. 

Biggs, a freshman from Oklahoma City, completed the 1,500-meter race in 4:06.88. 

The Stars compete next in the Wichita State Shocker Classic on May 6 in Wichita, Kan.
