Stars compete in NAIA College STUNT Nationals

OCU comes off national runner-up showing in previous season

ROCKLIN, Calif. – Oklahoma City University faces host William Jessup (Calif.) in the NAIA College STUNT Nationals at 4:30 p.m. CDT (2:30 p.m. PDT) Friday at Warrior Arena.

The Stars, ranked third in the NAIA, took national runner-up in the 2021 College STUNT Nationals.

Vanguard (Calif.) owns the No. 1 seed in the NAIA College STUNT Nationals. OCU fell short in last year's national title matchup 12-9 to Vanguard on April 24, 2021 in St. Louis.
William Jessup defeated the Stars 17-5 on March 18 at Abe Lemons Arena in the only previous meeting between the two teams. William Jessup closed out the contest by outscoring OCU 7-2 in the fourth period.

Oklahoma City has finished among the top four nationally each year the Stars have competed in STUNT. In addition to last year's national runner-up finish, OCU took second in the 2012 and '13 College STUNT Division II Championships.

STUNT is a head-to-head competition between two teams. STUNT is the fastest growing female sport at the collegiate and high school level.
Teams perform the same routines against the opposing team, and scores are based purely on execution. Each contest features four quarters. The teams showcase different disciplines each quarter – partner stunts in the first quarter, pyramids and tosses in the second period, jumps and tumbling in the third and a team routine in the fourth.
