OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University dispatched of Oklahoma Wesleyan 83-66 on Saturday at Abe Lemons Arena. 

Amaya Gordon supplied the Stars with 15 points. Oklahoma City (5-7) shot a season-best 56.7 percent from the field. 

Gordon, a junior criminal justice major from Ardmore, Okla., notched her second consecutive double-double with 10 rebounds and two steals. Six Stars reached double figures in scoring. 

"Each competition this semester, we have fought and scrapped and left it all on the hardwood, and today was nothing new," OCU coach Kris Seigenthaler said. "I hold strong that we are going to be scary come next semester. There is a lot of season left, and we are finding our strength. I thought we had locked in focus to finish tough shots through contact." 

OCU's Fiona Wilson, a senior human performance major from Greenland, Ark., collected 14 points, six rebounds and three steals, while Annilia Dawn, a senior psychology major from Amarillo, Texas, turned in 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists. 

Ray Osborn, a junior psychology major from Sapulpa, Okla., hauled in 12 points and six rebounds for Oklahoma City. Amiya Howard and Raegan Travis each contributed 10 points. 

The Stars grabbed the lead with a 10-0 run that stretched between the first and second quarters. Gordon sparked the surge with a jumper and putback, while Howard scored to provide OCU with a 17-11 edge after one quarter. Dawn's lay-in capped the run and put OCU on top 21-11 with 8:07 showing in the second. 

In the fourth quarter, Oklahoma City built its largest lead of the game with seven unanswered points. Osborn had a bucket to begin the run, then assisted on Elaine Witt's 3-pointer that gave OCU a 78-55 advantage with 4:01 left.  

The Stars will be idle until 6 p.m. Jan. 5 against Panhandle State in Goodwell, Okla.
