CHICKASHA, Okla. – Oklahoma City University has played its last match of the 2022 season with its 1-0 loss to Science & Arts on Saturday night at McLaughlin Field in the Sooner Athletic Conference men's soccer tournament.
OCU ended its season 10-7-1. The Stars had just two shots in the first period.
Lucas de Freitas led the way with four shots for Oklahoma City. De Freitas,
Jordan Da Costa,
Felipe Pansica, and
Bernardo Duarte had the best opportunities for the Stars with a shot on goal each. In the second half the Stars picked up the pace and ended with seven shots and two shots on goal. They had four shots on goal with all coming on the second period.
It was a stale match for most of the game up until the 81st minute when Matija Malenovic got the game winner by
Danilo Vilani. Vilani did all he could with the shots the Drovers put up all game. He ended with four saves. OCU ended with nine shots compared to the Drovers 13. The Drovers also had five shots on goal.
Even though the men's soccer season is now over you can still support the women when they play Science and Arts on Tuesday at 7pm at McLaughlin Field. The Stars will now look forward to the All-SAC awards that will be announced on Tuesday.
