Caputo scores twice in tie

Carvajal Granados and Orton gain first assists on season

OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma City University finished tied through 90 minutes against Mid-America Christian University at the Dill Soccer Field. The Stars move to 9-2-4, 4-1-2 on the season. With the tie the Stars stay ahead of MACU in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings.

Both of the Stars goals came in the first period. The first goal came in 44th minute with less than a minute remaining in the first period. Madi Caputo scored the goal from 24 yards out into the right post after an assist from Sofia Carvajal Granados. That was one of two goals for Caputo on the night. Her came in the 59th minute from 16 yards out after Rylee Orton passed it from the right side to the midfield. Caputo knocked it into the left post. The two goals for Caputo got her up to eight on the season. The assists from Carvajal Granados and Orton were their firsts on the season. Caputo led the offense with eight shots overall.

MACU came back in the second period with goals in the 64th and 81st minute. Irene Gonzalez helped the Stars hold onto the tie with all four of her saves coming in the second period. OCU ended with 14 shots and six shots on goal. MACU ended with just one more shot and also six shots on goal.
 
The Stars look to end their road games with a win when they face Panhandle State at 5 p.m. on Tuesday in Goodwell, Okla.
