OKLAHOMA CITY – Mid-America Christian defeated Oklahoma City University 71-53 in Sooner Athletic Conference action on Thursday night at Abe Lemons Arena. It was the first contest since a 76-62 win over John Brown on Dec. 8 for the short-handed Stars.

OCU (9-4, 4-4 SAC) held an early 9-0 lead but MACU (13-2, 6-2) fought back to post a 32-28 halftime lead over the Stars. The Evangels led by double-digits most of the second half, taking a 38-28 lead at the 6:59 mark of the third quarter. The lead would be in double-digits the rest of the way for the visitors.

Junior forward
Fiona Wilson finished with a team-high 19 points and eight rebounds for the Stars. Senior guard
Jordyn Eaton finished with season-high totals with 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Presley Payahsape finished with a team-high 13 points for MACU and Aneli Thomsen led the way with 13 rebounds. Ossyana Ozani contributed a double-double, finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

OCU returns to action on Saturday with a road game at Southwestern Christian. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
