• Oklahoma City won going away 74-57 against Central Christian (Kan.) on Thursday at Abe Lemons Arena. The Stars (11-6, 6-6 SAC) outscored Central Christian 20-7 in the final 7:09 after the visitors opened the fourth quarter with an 8-0 run

Abby Selzer, a 6-foot-2 senior from Thomas, Okla., reached the career milestone of 1,500 points with 27 points. Selzer notched her 11th double-double in 13 games this season with 11 rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals. Selzer equaled and surpassed 1,500 points by sinking a pair of free throws with two seconds left in the first quarter, moving her career total to 1,515 points. Selzer scored a career-high 29 points Nov. 23 at Our Lady of the Lake (Texas). Selzer ranks second nationally with a 65.9 percent field-goal percentage while averaging 18.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 1.62 blocks a contest this season

Erika Ankney, a 5-9 senior from Harrah, Okla., turned in 19 points, five assists and two steals. She hit 6 of her 10 field-goal tries, 4 of 7 from 3-point range and 3 of 4 from the foul line. Ankney had a layup and two free throws after Central Christian reduced OCU's lead to 54-50 with 7:37 left. She provides the Stars with 19.5 points, 4.5 assists and 1.82 steals a game in 2021-22
• OCU has produced 17.6 made free throws and 32.6 defensive rebounds per game to rate third in the NAIA in both statistical categories
• OCU has captured nine national championships in 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017 and finished as national runner-up four times (2003, 2004, 2005 and 2019)
• The Stars took third in the preseason SAC poll. Oklahoma City owns 20 SAC regular-season titles and 12 SAC Tournament championships. Since 2007-08, OCU has gone 248-28 (.899 winning percentage) in conference play
• Oklahoma City has compiled a 37-4 record against Langston over the years. Langston posted an 84-75 win Nov. 20 at Abe Lemons Arena, stopping OCU's nine-game winning streak in the series. Ankney fueled the Stars with 27 points, two blocks and two steals
ABOUT THE LADY LIONS
• Langston suffered an 86-67 loss to John Brown (Ark.) on Thursday in Siloam Springs, Ark. Langston (14-5, 9-4 SAC) managed only one double-digit scorer and 23.1 percent shooting from 3-point land
• Asheika Alexander, a 5-10 senior, had 20 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Alexander averages 18.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.47 steals per game, ranking third in the NAIA in average steals in 2021-22
• SAC coaches predicted Langston would finish sixth in the conference in the preseason
MEET THE COACHES
Brett Tahah (16-7, second season with OCU)
• Tahah is the first former OCU student-athlete to serve as head coach of the program
• As a player from 2002-10 she helped lead the team to a 63-10 record, two conference championships and two NAIA Fab Four appearances
• Tahah compiled a 117-50 head-coaching record with two state tournament semifinal berths in six years at Oklahoma high schools Frontier, Elgin, Hobart and Lookeba-Sickles
Elaine Powell (69-79, sixth season at Langston)
• Powell guided Langston to its first appearance in the SAC Tournament title game last season, falling to Wayland Baptist (Texas) on March 1, 2021 in Plainview, Texas. Prior to Langston, Powell spent time as an assistant coach at three NCAA Division I programs – Alabama A&M, Ohio University, and Grambling State
• Prior to beginning her coaching career, she played in the WNBA for 10 seasons, amassing more than 1,500 points for the Orlando Miracle (1999-2002), the Detroit Shock (2002-06, 07-08) and the Chicago Sky (2006)
• Powell played her collegiate basketball at LSU, where she was a Kodak All-American, and she finished her career in 11th on LSU's all-time scoring list with 1,163 points. She was the first player in LSU history to be drafted into the WNBA
