OKLAHOMA CITY – Sophomore
McLain Moss scored two goals to lead Oklahoma City University to a 3-1 win over Jarvis Christian on Monday afternoon at Brian Harvey Field. The outcome extends OCU's winning streak to three matches.
Moss got the scoring started for the Stars when she tapped a shot inside the near post off of an assist from the end line from senior
Madi Caputo 90 seconds into the match. Freshman
Jozalynn Ridge scored her first goal of the season in the 39th minute (with an assist by Caputo) to provide the Stars a 2-0 halftime lead.
Moss scored her second goal of the game when she directed a rebound off the Jarvis Christian goalkeeper into the net in the 57th minute, pushing OCU to a 3-0 lead. JCU's America Cespedes put her team on the board with a goal in the 75th minute.
OCU dominated the game, out-shooting JCU 43-5. The Bulldogs managed only one shot on goal for the contest.
OCU returns to action on Thursday for a non-conference game at Bacone College. First kick is scheduled for 2 p.m.
