LINDSBORG, Kan. – Oklahoma City University edged Bethany College (Kan.) 2-1 in double overtime in season-opening thriller on Saturday evening at Anderson Field.

Tommaso Belli scored the game-winning goal in the 102nd minute when he redirected a header from senior
Ljubisa Palic with a short-range blast to the back of the net. The game-winning goal was set-up by a 40-yard airborne pass to Palic by senior
Aleksa Mitrovic, who was credited with the assist.
OCU took a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute on a goal from 20 yards out by senior
Lucas de Freitas. The senior from Brazil stole the ball from the Bethany defender in the open field before finding the net after a give and go pass from Belli. Bethany College's Eduardo Goulart evened the score with a strike from 22 yards out to the inside right post in the 63rd minute.
The Stars dominated the game, outshooting the Swedes 20-4. OCU senior keeper
Danilo Vilani notched one save while Bethany College's Juan Pablo kept his team in the game by making four saves.
Oklahoma City (1-0) will play its home opener on Tuesday against Bethel College (Kan.) at Brian Harvey Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
