OKLAHOMA CITY –
Clair Hill,
McKenzie McCoy and
Arianna Medina of Oklahoma City University collected academic all-Sooner Athletic Conference for the third year in a row.
Lauren Behnken,
Rachel Eckert and
Natalie Gough of the Stars hauled in their second academic all-conference accolades. OCU paced the league with six honorees, a number Texas Wesleyan matched.
The academic all-SAC teams honor those letter winners who produce a 3.25 or better grade-point average on league squads over the past two semesters.
The Stars thrive both in competition and in the classroom. The Stars posted their best combined GPA of the past decade (3.332) in 2020-21. Oklahoma City extended its string of winning at least one national title to 28 years dating back to 1993-94 after taking the 2021 NAIA competitive cheerleading championship. OCU has won 70 national championships in all sports with three Directors' Cup titles (2016-17, '17-18 and '18-19).
