Stars bow out of SAC Tournament

OKLAHOMA CITY – Science & Arts of Oklahoma nipped Oklahoma City University 1-0 on Friday night at Brian Harvey Field in the Sooner Athletic Conference men's soccer tournament quarterfinals.
Malik Hasanovic scored on a breakaway goal with 19 seconds to go to move USAO into the SAC Tournament semifinals. Oklahoma City went to 7-3-2.
In the final minute, Andres Daza-Gomez of USAO denied a shot. Gomez cleared the ball past the center line to his teammate Callum Shepherd. Shepherd found Hasanovic breaking away towards the goal, and Hasanovic converted on the opportunity to break a scoreless tie.
USAO had a 14-13 edge in shots on the night. The Stars took eight of their shots in the second half. Ljubisa Palic made a team-high three shots for OCU.
Danilo Vilani, a junior from Goiânia, Brazil, snared three saves. Vilani jumped to make a save on Angelo Leenderste's shot, deflecting the ball off the crossbar in the 88th minute.
