OKLAHOMA CITY – Cierra Foster from Oklahoma City University landed Sooner Athletic Conference women's wrestler of the week.
Foster, a senior from Post Falls, Idaho, took her first open tournament title of her college career in the Grand View Open on Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa.
Foster collected the 155-pound crown with a 13-10 win over Morgan Mayginnes of Baker (Kan.). Foster owns the No. 3 spot in the 143-pound NAIA rankings, while Mayginnes is ranked fifth at 155. In the semifinals, Foster nabbed a 10-0 win over Tiyahna Askew from Missouri Baptist. Foster pinned Alexis Lopez in 29 seconds in her first action of the season. Foster won a cowbell as her trophy for winning a Grand View Open title.
