• Oklahoma City University faces North Texas Dallas in a women's basketball tilt in the first meeting ever between the two schools
• UNT Dallas is in its first season as a full-time member of the Sooner Athletic Conference after spending last season as an associate member. This is the program's second season of competition
ABOUT THE STARS
• The Stars outlasted LSU Alexandria 100-93 in double overtime Nov. 24 in San Antonio in the Halo Classic. OCU (6-1, 1-1 SAC) outscored LSU Alexandria 13-6 in the second overtime while scoring 100 points for the first time since a 104-71 win over Wayland Baptist (Texas) in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament on March 2, 2018 in Siloam Springs, Ark. OCU played in overtime for the first time since a 94-79 overtime win against Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) on Jan. 19, 2019 at Abe Lemons Arena and in double overtime for the first time since a 96-93 two-overtime loss to Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) on Nov. 25, 2017 in Oklahoma City

Abby Selzer, a 6-foot-2 senior from Thomas, Okla., owns double-doubles in all seven contests this season after notching 27 points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots at the Mabee Gymnasium. She hit 8 of 10 shots from the floor and 11 of 13 from the foul line. Selzer became a three-time SAC player of the week after averaging 28.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.50 steals and 1.50 blocks in the Halo Classic with a career-high 29 points against Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) on Nov. 23. Selzer provides the Stars with 21.3 points, 12.9 rebounds, 1.43 blocks and 1.14 thefts a game while ranking fourth in the NAIA in rebounding this season
• 
Fiona Wilson, a 5-9 junior from Greenland, Ark., tallied 23 points, five rebounds and three steals against LSU Alexandria. She shot 4-for-9 from beyond the 3-point line. Wilson records 12.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest with a 38.1 percent 3-point shooting clip
• Oklahoma City stands second among the NAIA with 20.3 free throws made per game as a team
• OCU has captured nine national championships in 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017 and finished as national runner-up four times (2003, 2004, 2005 and 2019) 
• The Stars took third in the preseason SAC poll. Oklahoma City owns 20 SAC regular-season titles and 12 SAC Tournament championships. Since 2007-08, OCU has gone 243-24 (.910 winning percentage) in conference play
ABOUT THE TRAILBLAZERS
• UNT Dallas suffered a 53-43 loss to Southwestern Assemblies of God on Nov. 23 in Dallas. The Trailblazers (6-2, 1-2 SAC) scuffled to a season-low 24.6 percent shooting from the field
• Brooke Lopez, a 5-5 junior, had 13 points and three rebounds while hitting 3 of 6 3-point shots. Lopez averages 8.3 points and 2.0 rebounds per game this season
• UNT Dallas was picked to finish 11th in the 12-team SAC in the preseason league coaches poll
 
MEET THE COACHES
Brett Tahah (11-2, second season with OCU)
• Tahah is the first former OCU student-athlete to serve as head coach of the program
• As a player from 2002-10 she helped lead the team to a 63-10 record, two conference championships and two NAIA Fab Four appearances
• Tahah compiled a 117-50 head-coaching record with two state tournament semifinal berths in six years at Oklahoma high schools Frontier, Elgin, Hobart and Lookeba-Sickles 
Rodney Belcher (8-10, second season at UNT Dallas)
• UNT Dallas went 2-8 in its first season of competition, collecting the first win in program history against Texas A&M-Texarkana 69-56 on Nov. 20, 2020 in Dallas
• Belcher guided Plano High School (Texas) to a 172-46 record with the 2018 Class 6A state championship and three district titles in six years. He had also been a head coach at Albuquerque Rio Grande (N.M.)
• Belcher previously coached on the college level as a men's assistant at Baylor and New Mexico
