Stars visit Plainview, Texas for 7 p.m. tournament quarterfinal contest Saturday

OKLAHOMA CITY – Sixth-seeded Oklahoma City University will open Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament play with a road game at third-seeded Wayland Baptist (Texas) on Saturday in Plainview.

Kickoff for the quarterfinal match is scheduled for 7 p.m. The winner of Saturday's game will face the winner of the Science & Arts-Texas Wesleyan game in the tournament semifinals Tuesday, Nov. 9.

WBU (10-4-1 overall) defeated OCU (9-7) 2-1 in regular season SAC play on Oct. 9 on its home field. That result snapped the Stars' five-game winning streak against the Pioneers. OCU leads the all-time series against Wayland Baptist 16-3.

Senior forward April Hill has been OCU's top offensive weapon this season, leading the squad in goals (10), assists (nine, tied with senior midfielder Madi Caputo) and total points (29). Senior forward Sofia Carvajal Granados and senior midfielder Mille Templeman are tied for second on the squad in goals scored (seven).

Senior goalkeeper Josie Knox brings a 6-6 record and 1.75 goals against average into the contest against WBU.
