OCU's Eldredge garners academic all-district nod

Eldredge takes second career academic all-district honor

OKLAHOMA CITY – Melissa Eldredge of Oklahoma City University became a two-time academic all-district® selection as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Eldredge, a senior from Eufaula, Okla., reeled in recognition as the only golfer on the CoSIDA academic all-district 4 at-large team.
Eldredge has compiled a 3.85 cumulative grade-point average as a cellular & molecular biology major. She posted a 77.00 stroke average, two top-five finishes, three top-10 showings and 33 birdies this season. Eldredge carded a 69 for her fourth career sub-70 round in the Missouri State/Payne Stewart Memorial on Sept. 9 in Springfield, Mo.
She has the fifth best career stroke average (76.92) ever by an Oklahoma City women's golfer. Eldredge landed honorable-mention Women's Golf Coaches Association NAIA all-American and all-Sooner Athletic Conference accolades this season. She is one of nine OCU women's golf four-time all-Americans.
The academic all-district® at-large team, chosen by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. The NAIA women's at-large team honors golfers alongside student-athletes who compete in beach volleyball, bowling, fencing, field hockey, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, rowing, skiing, swimming, tennis and water polo.
