SUGAR LAND, Texas – Melissa Eldredge of Oklahoma City University turned in a top-20 showing through two rounds of the Houston Baptist Husky Women's Intercollegiate on Monday at Riverbend Country Club.
Eldredge, a junior from Eufaula, Okla., provided the Stars with a 78-77–155, good for a tie for 14th. Oklahoma City, ranked 15th in NAIA women's golf, holds 11th place.
The Stars posted a 325-326–651 on the par-72, 6,084-yard course. Houston Baptist stands atop the team standings.
Eldredge knocked in her lone birdie on the par-4, 344-yard ninth hole during her second round. Eldredge finished par on 24 holes.
Lauryn Pritchard furnished OCU with an 83-79–162, which tied for 36th. Pritchard, a freshman from Allen, Texas, made birdie on the par-5, 160-yard 18th hole in the early round. In the second round, Pritchard nailed birdies on the par-5, 488-yard 12th hole and the par-4 157-yard 13th. She made par 16 times.
Natalie Gough, a freshman from Bixby, Okla., contributed an 80-83–163 along with three birdies and 16 pars, while Rachel Eckert, a junior from Eufaula, Okla., recorded an 84-91–175 while making par 12 times and birdied twice for the Stars.
Lauren Behnken, a freshman from Tulsa, Okla., had an 90-87–177, draining a birdie and making par 10 times.
The last round of the Husky Women's Intercollegiate starts 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in a shotgun start.
