THE MATCHUP

• Oklahoma City University wraps up finals week with a Sooner Athletic Conference test against Bacone
• The community is invited to Cookies with Santa in the student lounge of the Tom and Brenda McDaniel University Center from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Saturday. There will be cookie decorating, coloring and crafts with OCU mascot Starsky and picture-taking with Santa
• Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students and OCU students, faculty and staff get into all regular-season OCU home athletics events free with their ID
• When the Stars score 70 points, fans get a 2-for-1 combo coupon for Raising Cane's

ABOUT THE STARS
• Oklahoma City dealt John Brown (Ark.) its first home loss of the season 67-50 on Thursday, Dec. 6 in Siloam Springs, Ark. The Stars (9-1, 3-0 SAC) reeled off a 14-1 game-closing run and held John Brown to a season-low 18.2 percent 3-point shooting
Taylor LaCour, a 6-foot-1 senior from Georgetown, Texas, posted a game-high 12 points to go with five rebounds and two assists. LaCour turns in 11.2 points and 5.0 rebounds a game with a 53.2 percent field-goal percentage
Brennyn Seagler, a 5-11 junior from Gruver, Texas, provided OCU with 11 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots. Seagler chips in 6.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists a contest
• The Stars lead NAIA Division I with 33.6 defensive rebounds a game and the lowest opponents' field-goal percentage (28.9 percent). Abby Selzer tops the NAIA with a 69.7 field-goal percentage. To see how OCU stacks up to the rest of the NAIA statistically, click here
• Oklahoma City sits at 10th in the preseason NAIA Division I rankings. The Stars reached the NAIA Tournament for the 21st consecutive year and for the 24th time overall last season. OCU has captured nine national championships in 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017
• The Stars picked up the second spot in the Sooner Athletic Conference preseason coaches poll. Oklahoma City took its 18th SAC regular-season championship and 12th SAC Tournament title last season. OCU has won or shared nine of the past 11 league titles, going 203-20 (.910 winning percentage) within SAC play during that span
• OCU cruised past Bacone 82-48 on Feb. 27, 2018 in the SAC Tournament quarterfinals at Abe Lemons Arena in the most recent meeting. JoHanna Beathard produced her first career double-double with 20 points, 11 rebounds and three steals
• OCU's all-time record against Bacone stands at 8-0

ABOUT THE LADY WARRIORS
• Southwestern Christian blistered Bacone 109-47 on Thursday in Bethany, Okla. The Lady Warriors (0-7, 0-4 SAC) have allowed 106.3 points a game
• Kaylee Pinkston, a freshman forward, had 16 points and six rebounds. Pinkston averages 12.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest
• Bacone ranks 30th in the NAIA with 7.3 3-pointers per game
• League coaches tabbed Bacone at 12th in the preseason conference poll
 
MEET THE COACHES
Bo Overton (91-18, fourth season with OCU)
• Led Stars to 28-6 season with the SAC regular-season and tournament crowns in 2017-18
• Overton has coached four all-Americans while at OCU, including Daniela Wallen, the 2017 NAIA Division I player of the year, and Daniela Galindo, the 2018 WBCA NAIA player of the year
• Overton served as an assistant coach for the Chinese national team in the 2012 Olympics
• From 1998-2004, he served as assistant for Oklahoma. During that time, the Sooners made five NCAA Tournament trips with the 2002 NCAA runner-up finish and Final Four berth with three Big 12 regular-season titles and two conference tournament crowns
 
Galen Springer (first season with Bacone)
• Served as assistant coach at Haskell (Kan.) for 13 years
• Aided Haskell to its first NAIA Division II Tournament berth in 2009-10
• Founded Kansas Indians youth/adult basketball organization

Andrew Himes will provide the play-by-play. Himes is in his eighth season as the voice of the Stars and has been broadcasting OCU basketball for 11 years starting on color commentary as an OCU student
