Stars fall in SAC Tournament quarterfinals

Harvey ends season with 429 men's soccer wins

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University fell to Mid-America Christian in the quarterfinals of the Sooner Athletic Conference men's soccer tournament 2-0 on Saturday at Stars Field.
Oklahoma City, seeded fourth, concluded the season 11-5. The Stars started off the season strong going 5-1 in non-conference play and ended up going 6-3 in conference play. OCU had a four-game winning streak.
OCU coach Brian Harvey's combined men's and women's record sits at 799-322-68 in 33 years. He has compiled a 429-202-41 in men's soccer and a 370-120-27 mark in women's soccer. The Stars will attempt to give Harvey career victory No. 800 in the SAC women's tournament semifinals 6 p.m. Monday against USAO at Stars Field.
Petar Djurdjevic, a senior from Belgrade, Serbia, lead OCU with four shots with two on goal, while James Beattie, a senior from Glasgow, Scotland, had two shots both on goal.
Stars goalkeeper Andre Salvador, a junior from São Bento do Sul, Brazil, registered three shutouts and 87 saves in the season.
Seniors Aboubakr Diallo, from Oyem, Gabon, the conference leader in goals scored and Dan White, from Sheffield, England, had to set out of the match against MACU due to reaching the regular-season limit for five yellow cards.

The Evangels, seeded fifth, moves on to face Wayland Baptist (Texas) on Tuesday.
