THE MATCHUPS

• Oklahoma City University plays its first home games of the season in the Oklahoma City Classic
• The Stars meet Philander Smith (Ark.) at 8 p.m. Friday, then face nationally-ranked Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) at 2 p.m. Saturday
• Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students and OCU students, faculty and staff get into all regular-season OCU home athletics events free with their ID

ABOUT THE STARS
• OCU stomped LSU-Shreveport, ranked 18th in the NAIA, 71-50 on Saturday in the Southwestern Assemblies of God Classic in Waxahachie, Texas. The Stars (3-0) repaid LSU-Shreveport for a 70-58 loss the Pilots dealt OCU on Nov. 10, 2017 in the SAGU Classic
Taylor LaCour, a 6-foot-1 senior from Georgetown, Texas, led all scorers with 23 points while tying with Michaela Kay for game-high honors with nine rebounds. LaCour posts 17.0 points and 5.3 rebounds a game with a 58.8 percent field-goal percentage. She was the Sooner Athletic Conference player of the week for Nov. 5-11
Abby Selzer, a 6-2 freshman from Thomas, Okla., supplied the Stars with 14 points while hitting all six of her shots from the floor to help OCU hold a 21-17 edge in bench scoring. Selzer's averages this season are 15.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.67 blocked shots a game

• Oklahoma City sits at 10th in the preseason NAIA Division I rankings. The Stars reached the NAIA Tournament for the 21st consecutive year and for the 24th time overall last season. OCU has captured nine national championships in 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017
• The Stars picked up the second spot in the Sooner Athletic Conference preseason coaches poll. OCU took its 18th SAC regular-season championship and 12th SAC Tournament title last season
• OCU turned away Philander Smith 74-68 on Nov. 20, 2015 in the John Brown Classic in Siloam Springs, Ark., in the first meeting ever between the two teams
• Our Lady of the Lake outlasted top-ranked Oklahoma City 96-93 in double overtime Nov. 25, 2017 in San Antonio in the Our Lady of the Lake Classic. OCU leads the all-time series 4-2

ABOUT THE LADY PANTHERS
• Philander Smith took a 71-64 win over LSU-Shreveport on Monday in Little Rock, Ark. The Lady Panthers (5-1) extended their winning streak to five despite shooting 36.5 percent from the field
• Terralyn Dominick, a 5-5 senior, fueled Philander Smith with 15 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists and three steals. Dominick sparks her team with 16.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.67 thefts per game
• Philander Smith has swiped 103 steals to lead the NAIA this season
 
ABOUT THE SAINTS
• Our Lady of the Lake rallied past Xavier (La.) 89-74 on Saturday in San Antonio. The Saints (2-0) fell behind by 15 points early in the second quarter
• Kasey Saldana, a 5-3 junior, powered Our Lady of the Lake with 25 points while sinking 8 of 9 free-throw shots. Saldana averages 20.0 points and 2.00 steals a game. She took the Red River Athletic Conference player of the week
• Our Lady of the Lake was named the co-favorite to win the Red River Athletic Conference with LSU-Shreveport before the season
• The Saints hold the 15th spot in the preseason NAIA Division I poll
• Our Lady of the Lake racks up 102.5 points per game to rank third in the NAIA
 
MEET THE COACHES

Bo Overton (85-17, fourth season with OCU)
• Led Stars to 28-6 season with the SAC regular-season and tournament crowns in 2017-18
• Overton has coached four all-Americans while at OCU, including Daniela Wallen, the 2017 NAIA Division I player of the year, and Daniela Galindo, the 2018 WBCA NAIA player of the year
• Overton served as an assistant coach for the Chinese national team in the 2012 Olympics
• From 1998-2004, he served as assistant for Oklahoma. During that time, the Sooners made five NCAA Tournament trips with the 2002 NCAA runner-up finish and Final Four berth with three Big 12 regular-season titles and two conference tournament crowns
 
Brandon Greenwood (126-137, 10th season with Philander Smith)
• Led Philander Smith to 15-13 showing, losing in the first round of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament in 2017-18
• Spent a year as assistant men's basketball coach at Philander Smith before taking over women's program
 
Christopher Minner (163-38, seventh season with Our Lady of the Lake)
• Guided Our Lady of the Lake to runner-up finishes in both Red River Athletic Conference regular season and tournament last season
• Took Saints to their seventh NAIA Tournament appearance, falling in the first round
• Owns 105-9 league record
