OCU suffers 34-6 setback to Central Oklahoma

Moon, Walker take wins for Stars

EDMOND, Okla. – Oklahoma City University fell to Central Oklahoma 34-6 on Sunday at Hamilton Field House.
Montana Moon and Korey Walker provided the Stars with their victories against Central Oklahoma. Oklahoma City, ranked 15th in NAIA men's wrestling, went to 2-1 in duals this season.
Moon knocked off Noah McQuigg 11-6 in the 125-pound match. Moon, a sophomore from Chickasha, Okla., picked up a penalty point and two-point near fall early in the third period. Moon moved ahead on a reversal and four-point near fall, also in the third. Moon, 19th in the 125-pound NAIA rankings, moved to 3-0 on the season.
Walker edged Blake Berryhill 5-3 in the first sudden-victory period of the 285-pound bout. Walker, a junior from Midwest City, Okla., pulled out the win with a takedown in the extra period. Walker secured a takedown in the third period as well. Walker improved to 4-1 this season.
In the 174-pound match, Chase Vincent equaled the score 1-1 with an escape at the start of the third period. Miguel Barreras of Central Oklahoma grabbed the win by snatching a takedown in the third.
The Stars return to the mat in the Lindenwood Open at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 in St. Charles, Mo.
