Stars dominate Southwestern Assemblies of God 6-0

Ricks hat trick leads Stars to victory

WAXAHACHIE, Texas – Sara Ricks turned in another three-goal performance and led Oklahoma City University to a 6-0 victory over Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) on Saturday.
The hat trick of goals were Ricks' first of the season and fourth of her OCU career. With the win, No. 25 OCU improves to 5-2-2, 2-1-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer dropping SAGU to 5-7-1, 0-4 in SAC play.
Ricks, a senior from Keller, Texas, notched the first goal of the match in the 13th minute of the first half assisted by Rebekah Brantley. Natalie Speer, a senior from Stillwater, Okla., scored in the 34th minute off of a cross from Madi Caputo. Ricks collected her second goal in the 56th minute and her final goal came in the 67th minute off of an attack from Keilah Ayum. Ashton Denham assisted Mea Gordon to wrap up the scoring in the 76th minute.
The Stars finished the game with 22 total shots, 15 on goal. SAGU produced six total shots, three on goal. Ricks accumulated six total shots on Saturday, while freshman Madi Caputo tallied four shots and senior Natalie Speer and junior Jessica Titsworth had two shots.
Kirsten Thomas, a senior from Keller, Texas, collected three saves in the win. Kristina Patterson finished the game in the goal, but did not see any action in the final 15 minutes. Sarah Palmer receives the loss for SAGU collecting eight saves and allowing four goals, before being replaced by Natalie Solorio who allowed two goals and grabbed one save.
OCU collects a win by forfeit on Tuesday over Bacone. Returning to action on the following Tuesday at 5 p.m. against Wayland Baptist (Texas) at Stars Field
